In this tutorial, I’ve posted the step by step methods to draw pistachios using pencil as a sketches. This drawing guide is suitable for beginners who are learning to draw simple and cute images for their kids or for kids who are learning to draw on their own.
Step 1: Draw the Top of the Shell
Start by drawing a long curved line. Then, double it back to make a teardrop shape. The tip should be slightly pointed & turned up. This is the top part of the pistachio shell.
Step 2: Draw the Bottom Half of the Shell
From the back of the shell, draw two long curved lines going downward. These lines should be close to each other but should not touch. This will be the bottom part of the pistachio shell.
Step 3: Complete the Shell and Draw the Nut
Now, draw another curved line to connect the top and bottom halves of the shell. This will fully enclose the pistachio nut inside. Next, add a wavy line in the middle of the shell to show the thin, papery covering of the nut.
Step 4: Add Details to the Nut
Draw a long curved line down the middle of the nut to give it more shape. Now, let’s start drawing another pistachio! Use a long curved line to make another pointed shape, just like before.
Step 5: Draw the Second Pistachio
Extend a curved line from the top of the first pistachio to making the second one. Then, draw another curved line between the two pistachios to outline the nut inside the second shell.
Step 6: Finish the Second Shell
Use overlapping curved lines to complete the top of the second pistachio shell. Then, add a few curved lines to show the edges of the shell.
Step 7: Add Texture to the Nut
Draw some wavy, curved lines across the pistachio nut to make it look more real. This will show its papery covering.
Step 8: Draw a Shelled Pistachio
Now, let’s draw a third pistachio, but this one has no shell! Use a long curved line to draw the nut’s shape. It should look a little uneven since the nut is not perfectly smooth.
Step 9: Add Final Details
To finish, draw some small curved lines on the shelled nut and the other pistachios to add texture.
